The Background

This landmark development is at the heart of London Borough of Redbridge’s regeneration of Ilford Town Centre. It will feature 354 new homes in a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments in a range of blocks including a 24 storey tower. The site was originally acquired by Durkan in 2007, who have worked with JLL to bring it to market as an investment opportunity.

The scope

The homes will be built to a high standard, which will raise the bar for the local area. The development features heavily in the Ilford Housing Zone Plans and will deliver a key part of the town centre’s regeneration. The scheme demonstrates Durkan’s ability and commitment to regeneration in East London, and especially along the Crossrail Route.

Build to rent

In March 2017, M&G Real Estate - one of the UK’s largest property investors - and Durkan signed a £71.4 million deal to finance and deliver 206 of the total units, as homes for private rent. Read more...
